CHARITIES WE SUPPORT

At the heart of our ethos is giving back to charities that support the causes we explore in our plays.

The LOST Lombi delves deep into the horrific realities of life as a child soldier in the DRC. The LOST Lombi production will be donating part of the profits to the following charities. Please donate to your chosen charity and reference The LOST Lombi.

Thank you- your support is greatly appreciated.

  • Congo Children Trust is a UK based charity which is mobilising a grass roots international network to support the Kimbilio project, who support the needs of children living on the streets in D.R. Congo. Through Kimbilio, our partner in D.R. Congo, the Congo Children Trust non-profit has been working hard to support street connected children in Lubumbashi, the largest city in the former Katanga province and the second largest in D.R. Congo, and the wider region. Our charity mission is simple yet profound: to protect, nurture, educate, and empower the most vulnerable children in D.R. Congo.

  • 'We protect educate and stand up for the rights of children living through conflict. We go to the hardest to reach places to support those who are hardest hit. We work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo reintegrating children who have escaped armed groups into their communities youth led advocacy, and sustainable livelihoods are at the core of what we do for children in the DRC.  Recruitment of children and young people into armed groups remains widespread in the DRC. In addition hundreds of children and youth who had accepted to leave armed groups inn2020 & 2021 are still waiting for some form of support towards reintegration. In the absence of alternatives, they are at increasing risk of returning to armed groups.'

  • Led by Congolese educator and community builder Amani Mataboro, we are dedicated to repairing the harm done by years of violence and neglect in this region. We focus on the women and children who are the most at risk and whose wellbeing will make the biggest impact in their community. Our mission focuses on four complementary initiatives

    ENTREPRENEUR TRAINING

Providing a lifeline to women by teaching literacy, job skills, and self-sufficiency to provide for themselves and their families.

    CONGO PEACE SCHOOL

Providing a quality education, bolstered in peace and nonviolence training, preparing future leaders to change their world.

    COMMUNITY FARM

Providing a gathering place for women to learn organic agriculture, grow food to feed their families, and sell at the market.

    HIV/AIDS EDUCATION

Through canvassing the community to test for HIV, our team provides access to treatment and general family planning

  • Red Hand Day on 12th February and the campaign to stop the use of child soldiers are existing for over 15 years. Hundreds and thousands of handprints have been collected in more than 50 countries and handed over to politicians and to responsible parties, including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. There is progress, but there are still 250,000 child soldiers in the world.

Help to stop this abuse of children. Show your Red Hand to the world!
